This year – to tie in with Chewing The Cud – Herefordshire Museum Service will be focusing their yearly Take One project on The Old Livestock Market.
Take One is a creative learning programme which is based on The National Gallery’s highly acclaimed Take One Picture programme. It enables museums, galleries, archives and historic sites to work with local primary and secondary schools to provide engaging learning experiences for children and young people.
Take One starts with a teacher’s INSET day in which teachers learn about a single picture, object or document. This item is used as a rich resource for investigative and creative learning.
Teachers take the Take One model back into school and run their own Take One project. The model is very flexible and you can adapt it to suit your own pupils, timetables and ways of working.
