We are very sad to hear of the death of Chewing the Cud patron, Sir Ben Gill. When approached before the project started, and long before it had a name, Sir Ben immediately understood the importance of recording our local agricultural heritage before the memories were lost, and quickly provided a wonderful letter of support that formed part of our funding bid. Later, despite being unwell, he kindly agreed to become Chewing the Cud’s patron. Our deep sympathies go to his wife, Lady Carolyn, and his sons.
