Great news that our locally-based film ‘Chewing the Cud’ can beat Oscar-winning films like ’12 Years a Slave’ and classics like ‘Cinema Paradiso’ to become a firm favourite of the 2014 festival. See the full list here.
We’ve got the figures back from the Courtyard, and we’ve had audiences of 722 people over three screenings – packing out the main auditorium twice, and making it the 4th highest attended film out of 59. We are so pleased for all of the contributors and trainees, and chuffed ourselves too! Some quotes:
“Found it very interesting. Filmed in a great way. A real community event.”
“I have only recently moved to the area but have already found so much to cherish. This was a deeply moving film that shows Hereford deserves to stand proud.”
“Great film. So interesting to see recent history. Also to understand farming community.”
“Loved seeing real Herefordshire on film.”
“So informative and moving – important history to share with all generations of Herefordians!”
“Chewing the Cud was brilliant – funny, moving and memory lane with hope for our future.”
“It was genuinely a fascinating and moving film (and that’s coming from somebody for whom the cattle market wasn’t really a huge part of their life)”
